Forum, IRC and Shoutbox Rules

1. Do not flame or troll anyone in the forums or the shoutbox/IRC. Flaming consists of antagonizing other members, personal attacks, insults, racist comments, intolerance of anyone's gender, sexual orientation, politics or religion. Flaming will not be tolerated. If you are caught flaming, you will be formally warned for each infraction. If you continue, you will be banned for 24 hours, second infraction will result in a 5 day ban.
   
   
2. Excessive swearing, and degrading or explicit sexual comments or pictures are not allowed. This applies to posts, signatures and links that are posted on the site.
   
   
3. Other than in Forum Games, spamming is not allowed. Below are examples of what is considered spam:
   • Double posting in forums. If you need to update a post, please do so by editing it. Bumping topics to make them show up at the top of the topic list is not allowed. If you spam posts, you will be fined the bells paid out for each post. After two infractions you will get a formal warning.
   • Repeatedly posting the same comment or link in the shoutbox.
   • Posting all caps, nonsense words, random text or binary in the shoutbox or forum.
   • One word posts or smilies. If a post doesn't contribute to the topic in any way, then the post will be deleted without notice.
   • Advertising. There is to be no advertising within a post unless the posted link has a publicly-viewable link to the Evil Society of Evil that can be seen somewhere on the website. Advertising within a signature is fine, so long as it is not advertising any sort of pornography or warez. Any advertisements that violate this rule will be removed and the offender will receive a warning.
   
   
4. Hacking the site is strictly prohibited. Attempts to hack the points system or the arcade will result in a loss of points and a ban from the arcade. Any attempt to hack the site or launching an attack on this site will result in a permanent ban. This includes guessing passwords, password phishing, probing for vulnerabilities, and denial of service.
   
   
5. The discussion of emulation and piracy, including the technical nature of emulators and ROM images, hardware modification technology, as well as their effect on the industry as a political topic are deemed to be generally acceptable. However, providing or requesting pirated material of any sort, linking to pirate download sites, and directions on how to get pirated software to work on the forums is not allowed. You may do this at your own discretion in private messages. Repeat offenders will be warned and/or banned.
   
   
6. The staff is here to enforce the rules. If you have issue with the way a rule is enforced, please discuss it privately with the staff member. do not take arguments public, as this will not be tolerated, and will result in a formal warning. If you do not wish to discuss the issue with the staff member in question, please bring your complaint to an administrator.
